An event 1/4 century in the making

Don't get too excited, it's just my 25th birthday. Not like I'm turning eleventy-one. I must say, there's not a whole lot I want for my birthday. I'm too busy to focus on something new in my life. My mom is moving just around the corner from us on Saturday, I've got school to worry about, I still haven't gotten to work on my website, "I'm swamped!"
I can't really reconcile my visions of being 25 with how it actually is. It's been over 4 years since my mission. I remember back when I was a kid and looked at guys in the ward who just got married, I thought, "Wow, they're old! They're adults now, and there's no going back." I feel the pressures of being an adult, but like I said, it doesn't match how I thought it would feel. Can you really have a second child-hood if you haven't left your first?
I went and spoke with a counselor up at the U yesterday. I'm basically starting again from scratch on my education, so I won't graduate until 2010. Scary. I don't know how we're going to live through this. Did I mention that this is scary?

Um, according to my calendar, you still have a bit left before you're 25, Bro. Let us never speak of it again, ok?

I know completely what you mean. Nothing ever feels like you thought it would. Almost nothing, anyway.

Dang Jim, you're not that old after all ... actually it wasn't all that hard to tell.
