Reservations on Mitt Romney

I'm not really sure how to voice my opinion about Mitt. I think he's the best candidate out there....right now...but he seems to me to be just a more eloquent version of our current President. Don't get me wrong, I think Bush was and is the best man for the job as far as security and defense go, but I think he's incredibly irresponsible (don't know if that's the right word) when it comes to government programs....just like the Democrats if I dare go that far. To be honest, I just don't know enough. In my limited knowledge, I would actually prefer Newt to Mitt, and even Cheney to Newt, but I don't think either of them will run. We, as a country, need a confident and strong leader who will protect and preserve our form of government from our enemies, both inside and outside of our borders. We, as conservative Republicans, need someone who will call the libs/dems (and the relative few republicans that have joined the dark side) out on the carpet for all their hypocrisy and ruthless power seeking tactics.
I'll tell you what I do know, every day looks more and more like the Nephites on the path to destruction. The best action I know how to take would be to really hit hard on having people read the Book of Mormon, especially about the fall of their government because the voice of the people chose evil rulers. That's what I'm going to be doing as much as I can, since we're not really allowed to call the current democrats evil from a church pulpit...or are we?

As far as government programs Mitt seems know what he is doing...he saved Massachussets from all of their reckless spending and was able to cut all of the waste out of their government programs...goverment programs are good if they are efficient and necessary, but the problem is that someone institutes them for a good reason and then never closes them down or keeps a check on their growth and spending. In Massachussets Mitt downsized a lot of the unnessary programs and made them more efficient. His plan for Iraq is the best I've seen, along with his stance on immigration. When you get a chance go to his website (www.mittromney.com) where he lists out his stance on his top ten issues. We still have a while until anyone needs to start making decisions, but so far I like him the best. Yeah, we fight a rough battle, because, like the Nephites, more and more of the people are choosing unrighteous leaders. I guess all we can do is our best.

I'm still pulling for Fred Thompson. B & I were just discussing this last night and regardless of who wins the election (R or D) the country is going to hell for the next 4-8 years. The US has to get hit, and HARD, again, probably more than once, before we can become unified as a people on what to do about this war or any other wars. Whomever the president is after this next president (the one right after Bush) is the one who will unite us and bring us through the crud.
